Write about a meaningful object or place in your life that carries a story

I have a small, green dreamcatcher hanging above my bed. The string still hangs despite the years of wear and tear and distress caused by my big fan near it. At night, after watching a scary movie or having a rough day, I count on the green dreamcatcher to protect my inner thoughts and I drift off for the night. This special object collects my thoughts and brings me clarity so I am able to calm and wind down peacefully. Staying strong for more than 7 years, my dream catcher never fails me.

Today in class we read an origin myth and analyzed its parts, then answered discussion questions about it.

Today I learned how to tell a myth from religion through analyzing its parts and words.

Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

The last scene forces readers to reinterpret Emily’s entire life. Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?
