After viewing your classmates’ poem posters, select one presentation that caught your attention. Describe what you enjoyed about it or something new you learned from their work.

One poem that caught my attention was the one comparing life to a prison. I don't remember whose poem it was, but I remember that it was very inspiring and the presentation stuck with me. I liked it a lot because I have heard people comparing the mind to a prison, but not necessarily life to a prison. It does make a lot of sense though, how we are all stuck in life and we cannot get out. The routines and challenges we face are a lot like a prison that we can't escape. Also, the poster was very visually appealing and there reading of the poem was very influential.

Today in class we listened to our classmates' presentations of their poems.

Today I learned about different people's views and what comparisons they make with abstract ideas.

As we think about our upcoming Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

The last scene forces readers to reinterpret Emily’s entire life. Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?
