Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).

On my worksheet, the mental or emotional struggles topic challenged me the most. It was the hardest topic when creating my figurative language because I have had issues many times with my stress, anxiety, overthinking, and burnout. I had to to pick how I think it effects me the most and the most often. So, I decided on how it damages my sleep pattern because that is the most damaging to me.

In class, we made an online poster of our figurative language.

I learned how to find good images to represent my similes and metaphors.

Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

The last scene forces readers to reinterpret Emily’s entire life. Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?
