How does watching the film version of Into the Wild change or deepen your understanding of Chris McCandless compared to reading the book? In your response, explain one key difference in how his character or experiences are presented, and connect this to a time when seeing something visually changed your understanding of a situation.

Watching the film version let me understand Chris's opinions and reasoning behind his decisions. It was different from the book in how it expressed just how badly Chris was or does at home and in society. The film was able to portray true human emotion, which mad me feel sad for him and understand why he would want to escape.  A time when seeing something visually changed my understanding of a situation was when one of my friends was upset with a girl for texting her boyfriend. I knew they were friends so I thought it was not a big deal, but then I saw the texts seemed more than friends so I took my friend's side.
In class, we watched the film.
I learned about Chris' experience in the wild.

As we think about our upcoming Vocabulary Monday, tell me what is your favorite word RIGHT NOW? Why is it your faovorite word and how often do you use it?

Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

The last scene forces readers to reinterpret Emily’s entire life. Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?
