Reflect on your past experiences with research in school. What challenges have you faced when working independently or in a group, and how did you handle them? Explain how those experiences will influence the way you approach this current research project.

In the past, my research papers have not been guided very much by my teachers. Last year, I wrote one in English class, but my teacher gave us very little guidance and basically told us it figure it out ourselves. We worked independently, so I have never really researched with a group before. For this project, I hope that having a group will help me to do better and create better work.

In class, we were introduced to our research project.

I learned about current events through the kahoot.

Write about a time when you realized you needed to look out for yourself in a silly or harmless situation—maybe dodging a pop quiz, escaping a group chat argument, or remembering at the last second to submit an assignment. How did choosing wisely make your life easier?

The last scene forces readers to reinterpret Emily’s entire life. Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?
